His memory lives on in the hearts of those who cherished him deeply. James leaves behind his devoted wife, Lana, and his adoring children, Dee, Ted, and Lauren. He was a doting grandfather to Trey, Darla, Alex, Gavin, and great-granddaughters Amber and Claire. James' family remembers him as a loving and caring father, a man who consistently went out of his way to lend a helping hand and make life better for those around him. After completing his education at San Francisco State University, James answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Stationed at the historic SF Presidio, he was honored to be part of a newly formed, elite basketball team for the US Army. His dedication to excellence and teamwork was evident throughout his military service. Professionally, James was a skilled mechanical engineer, dedicating most of his life to his craft. His precision and problem-solving skills were second to none, and his willingness to assist others made him a trusted colleague and friend to many. A true sports enthusiast, James found joy in supporting his beloved San Francisco Giants and 49ers. However, his heart truly belonged to the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, and he passionately cheered for them year after year. James Baxter's legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering support for his family and friends. As we say our final farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our hearts.
